You may have visited open gardens or open studios in this area. Now you have a chance to find out how to how to make your home more energy efficient, to generate your own energy and to save money. Find out what your neighbours have achieved and be inspired to reduce your carbon footprint too.
Please note that this event has now finished.
We have a good variety of energy conservation and renewable energy technologies available for viewing on Saturday, with information available on others that cannot be seen.
At Heatherley, Dikes Lane, Great Ayton, TS9 6HG, you can talk to people who have solar thermal panels, biomass boilers, PV panels, see low cost options like draught proofing and how a ground source heat pump operates. Along with refreshments, there will also be information about other technologies, the Renewable Heat Incentive and Feed-in Tariffs.
Heatherley is just over the railway bridge from Great Ayton station - from the platform look across and you will see the house with the PV panels. If you come by bus ( 29 or 81) it is about a 20 minute walk up from the village or you could arrive by train and walk over the bridge. For those that are driving we suggest you park in the station car park
This event is being organised by Moor Sustainable www.moorsustainable.org.uk/
Homes will be open from 11.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
